Jazz Timeline

The Blues and Jazz family tree shows the roots, timeline and cross influences between the genres.

Precise tabulation of free form music is impossible, but at least here are the influences at play. For example, Brazilian Bosa Nova (the new charm) was influenced by Bebop jazz and the Samba rhythms.

All this great music started out from the City of New Orleans and the rural Mississippi Delta.
